S32550 / 1.4507 / Alloy255 is more alloyed than ordinary stainless steel and has excellent corrosion resistance. Alloy 255 is often used in areas where traditional stainless steel is insufficient or at the most marginal. A good example in the paper industry, when environmental laws mandate the recycling of process fluids, corrosion issues are affected. In closed systems, chemicals such as chlorides can build up over time into highly corrosive concentration. Papermakers have discovered that ordinary stainless steel equipment that previously served well is no longer suitable for many applications.

Features

S32550 / 1.4507 / Alloy255 is a dual phase alloy with a high strength to weight ratio with excellent wear and cavitation resistance. It is resistant to chloride SCC, as well as crevice and pitting corrosion. It has good ductility and high fatigue strength in marine applications.
